Admission and Program Requirements

The criminology and criminal justice program is comprehensive. You’re not required to have a minor.

Your first steps

  1. Apply to Missouri State.
  2. Before completing 60 credit hours, contact the Academic Advising and Transfer Center to declare or change your major to criminology.

Criminology and Criminal Justice (Comprehensive) (BA)

Bachelor of Arts

Major requirements (45 hours):

Note: Six hours may double count toward General Education requirements.

  1. Lower division core: CRM 210(3), 220(3), 250(3), 260(3), 270(3). All must be completed before enrolling in required courses at the 300 level or higher.
  2. Upper division core: CRM 330(3), 340(3), 341(3), 365(3), 415(3), 494(0), 496(3).
  3. 12 additional hours in Criminology courses numbered 300 or higher.
  4. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of CRM 496(3).
  5. Specific Bachelor of Arts Degree Requirements
